D.C. UNITED | KIT LAUNCH
HONOR THE LEGACY
THE STORY
D.C. United is the most decorated club in MLS history. Four MLS Cups. Four Open Cups. The first dynasty the league ever had.
But that was a long time ago. The team had been losing for years, and a new generation of fans had never seen the club win anything. The Archive Kit pulled straight from those early glory years. The club and the league wanted to launch it. We saw the harder thing underneath: how do you celebrate a golden past without rubbing salt in a difficult present?
WHAT WE UNCOVERED
The story wasn't the trophies. It was what it took to win them.
We went back through every championship and found the same thing under each one. A doubt, a fight, a team that wasn't supposed to do it. The glory was never handed over. It was earned by people who were counted out first. It’s the same fight it's in right now.
Resilience. The character of a city, and the character of a club that's still writing its story.
THE NARRATIVE
We turned the D.C. Metro into a time machine and rode it backward.
Each stop opened onto a defining moment in the club's history, moving from the present day back through the breakthroughs, and the struggles that came before every one of them. We researched what each championship team actually overcame and wrote it into the script, so the film never just showed a trophy. It showed the doubt that came before it.
Eddie Pope carried the film. His voice moved through it the whole way, someone who had lived the history he was narrating, revealed at the end as the one who'd been walking us back through it.
And we ended in the one place in Washington built to hold what matters. Using AI, we placed the Archive Kit inside the National Archives, alongside the nation's most protected records. The final line: our legacy lives in the archives, and is still being written.
